The 36 story Tribune neo-gothic skyscraper is located near the Chicago River on North Michigan Avenue, and towers to a height of 462 feet. The building is functions as the corporate headquarters for the Chicago Daily Tribune. The design of Raymond Hood and John Howells was used for the Tribune Building after having won a design contest in 1922 held by the Chicago Tribune Newspaper.
The building is decorated with ornate sculptures from artist Rene Paul Chambellan. The most unique feature of the building is the use of historic stones incorporated in the walls, including stones from the Taj Mahal, the Alamo, The Great Wall of China, Parthenon, Great Pyramids, and Notre Dame.
