Although we would say the Ambassador East is not for everyone, if you are looking to stay away from the Magnificent Mile madness, this Gold Coast boutique style hotel might be the perfect pick. This older historic hotel located in a residential area features rooms decorated in traditional style. Wireless is available, but for a fee, and don’t expect state of the art flatscreens in you room. The hotel is short walk to Rush street and Oak Street Beach. You have to visit the Pumproom Lounge, a popular hangout for the stars back in the day - Frank Sinatra once sang here.
Bottom Line: The Ambassador East is a great value pick. The rooms could use a bit of an update, but for the price it is hard to beat this Gold Coast gem.
