Chicago Area Neighborhoods

Here is a quick view of where the Chicago Neighborhoods are. Click on the individual links to find our more details on each city area.

Chicago Downtown Loop
The loop is the downtown business district of Chicago. The Loop is bordered by Michigan Avenue to the East, Chicago River to the West, Congress Parkway on the South, and Wacker Drive on the West.

Gold Coast Neighborhood
Located North of Oak Street, between LaSalle Blvd and Lake Shore Drive is the Gold Coast Area of Chicago famous for it's historic mansions located on Astor Street, many restaurants, bars, and clubs nearby.

Hyde Park Neighborhood
Located on the South Side of Chicago the Hyde Park Area is rich in Culture and Diversity. The neighborhood is the home of President Obama.

Lincoln Park Area
The neighborhood is bounded on the North by Diversey Parkway, to the West by Clybourn Avenue, to the South by North Avenue, and to the East by the 1,200 acre Lincoln Park.

Magnificent Mile
The Magnificent Mile Neighborhood is located on North Michigan Avenue. There are more than 450 stores including designer boutiques, upscale shopping centers, department stores, restaurants and hotels.

Museum Campus Area
This 57 Acre Lakefront area is Located on the southern end of Grant Park. It was opened in the late 90's after rerouting Lake Shore Drive. The area has some of Chicago's top attractions.

Old Town Neighborhood
The small area North of the Gold Coast, East of Wicker Park, and South of Lincoln Park is known as Old Town. The area is mostly residential with many restaurants, coffee houses and shops.

River North Neighborhood
The River North area is bounded by the Chicago River on the West and the South, and extends to about Rush Street on the East.

Streeterville Neighborhood
East of the Magnificent Mile and Michigan Avenue is the affluent Streeterville neighborhood, home of Navy Pier and the Childrens Museum of Chicago. The area is actually built on fill. Streeterville is bordered by the Gold Coast on the North and the Chicago River to the South.

Wrigleyville
The area right around Wrigley Field is a smaller neighborhood within the Lake View area. The area is full of Bars and restaurants that attract the loyal Cubs crowd on game day.
