How People Make Things

1/26/2008 to 5/11/2008

Location: Chicago Children's Museum

Event Information:

nspired by the factory tour segments from the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood television series, CCM’s newest exhibit, How People Make Things, tells the story about the ideas, processes, and technologies that go into making favorite childhood objects.

This exhibit offers hands-on activities with real factory tools and machines to create objects through molding, cutting, deforming and assembly. Use a die cutter to make a box and a horse, and operate a three-axis mill to carve a block of wax. Assemble parts of a real golf cart, and race a robotic arm to see who can assemble a replica of the trolley from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood the fastest!
