Chicago's Gold Coast NeighborhoodLocated North of Oak Street, between LaSalle Blvd and Lake Shore Drive is the Gold Coast Area of Chicago. The area is one of the most expensive in the country and is famous for it's historic mansions located on Astor Street. In this area there are over 100 landmark buildings ranging from Queen Anne, Romanesque Revival Style, to Art Deco. If your looking for high-end Boutique shopping head over to Oak Street. Located on Rush Street are tons of restaurants, while the bar scene is jumping over closer to State Street. On North State is the Historic Pump Room, where many famous celebrities have gathered over the years, Ronald Reagan, Marilyn Monroe, and Paul Newman to name a few. If that's not your style try the funky Zebra Lounge and sing along at the Piano Bar. If you're in the mood for a steak, check out Morton's Steakhouse, it's the original one.
