Not Sure What Neighborhood to Stay in Chicago?

The Loop Neighborhood is the business and Theater District of Chicago. Towards the Northeastern section of the loop is the Luxury Fairmont Hotel, the gigantic Hyatt, and the Swissotel. The Hyatt is right on Wacker and the Chicago River. Both the Hyatt and Swissotel are very good business hotels, and close to the many Attraction in Millennium Park. Close to Michigan Avenue is the Boutique Hotel Monaco, and the Hip and Cool Hard Rock Hotel, located in the historic Carbide and Carbon Building. Both these hotels are close to the famed Chicago Theater, the Cultural Center, as well as the Pritzker Pavilion home to many outdoor concerts in the summer. Further west towards the Thompson Center is the beautiful Burnham Hotel and Atwood Cafe located in the Reliance Building (photo), within walking distance to Marshall Fields (now Macy's) department store.

Towards the Sears Tower is the no frills Club Quarters, we think one of the best business values in the loop, just a few blocks from the Art Institute, near the Chicago Board of Trade on Lasalle Street. Also near the Art Museum, across from the park on "Jewelers Row" is the Silversmith, designed by architectural firm of D.H. Burnham and Company has an incredible marble and cast iron grand staircase. The nearby Palmer House is an iconic, world-class hotel and is the longest continuously operating hotel in North America. Cross the Chicago River to the North is the Magnificent Mile, hotels get a bit more expensive up there. Move down South into the South Loop towards Grant Park and the Museum Campus and hotels get a bit cheaper.
