Chicago's Lincoln Park Neighborhood

One of the most popular residential neighborhoods in Chicago is Lincoln Park. It's located near the lake above Old Town, and includes some of Chicago's top attractions. The always free Lincoln Park Zoo, the Conservatory, and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, great for Kids. Also in the neighborhood is DePaul University. The area has many boutique style shops, and restaurants. The neighborhood next to the beautiful Lincoln Park provides easy access to the Lakefront.

Bars and Clubs in Lincoln Park

If you are looking for blues check out the The Kingston Mines. It is the largest and oldest Blues club in Chicago. Also try B.L.U.E.S., the no-nonsense friendly intimate 7 days a week all year live music bar. The bar features more local artists.

The Park West located on West Armitage is a premier concert venue featuring top entertainers. The Same group runs the Vic and the Riviera. Lincoln Station is Lincoln Park's favorite hangout, on North Lincoln Avenue a short walk north of the intersection of Lincoln, Halsted and Fullerton. It has a full bar in a relaxed atmosphere, and serves American cuisine. Try the Works Burger!

For something more upscale try the new restaurant and late night lounge Soiree Bar Lounge, in the heart of Lincoln Park. Its atmosphere and décor are heavily influenced by the trendy urban culture of Chicago. Near Depaul you can hang out at the Tonic Room, lined with antique bottles from the turn of the century

The neighborhood is bounded on the North by Diversey Parkway, to the West by Clybourn Avenue, to the South by North Avenue, and to the East by the 1,200 acre Lincoln Park.

You can access Lincoln Park from Lake Shore Drive, or by Chicago Mass Transit, Red, Brown, and Purple lines at the Fullerton Station.

Chicago Mob History:
Gangster John Dillinger was shot in 1934 at the Biograph Theater, now the Victory Gardens Theater, Located on North Lincoln Avenue.
