Chicago's Old Town NeighborhoodThe small area North of the Gold Coast, East of Wicker Park, and South of Lincoln Park is known as Old Town. The area is mostly residential with many restaurants, coffee houses and shops. Many of the streets are cobblestone and lined with beautiful Victorian homes. The Old Town area is a Chicago Landmark District that has some of Chicago's oldest and most expensive properties. Nearby attractions include the Chicago History Museum, which showcases, and interprets millions of authentic pieces of Chicago and U.S. history. Also Nearby is beautiful North Avenue Beach, this a good spot for City Views along the Lakefront. Within the borders of Old Town is The Second City, a famous improv theater. A few blocks West of Old Town on Halsted Street is the internationally renowned Steppenwolf Theater. Famous Saturday Night Live Players: |
