Chicago Printer's Row NeighborhoodThe area known as Printer's row, just south of the Loop Area is named for the former center for commercial printing in Chicago. Loacated at 500 to the 80 blocks of S. Dearborn the area has long narrow street patterns that brought in light required for the detailed print work. Today these buildings house residential complexes, condominiums and lofts, bookstores, restarants, bars, and clubs. Located on 47 W. Polk St., is the 1885 landmark Dearborn Station, one of the oldest railroad stations in the U.S. The land that was once used for the Rail Yards is now Dearborn Park. Events Printer's Row: |
