In 1943 Pizzeria Uno began when Ike Sewell opened a restaurant in Chicago that specialized in serving his new creation, deep-dish pizza. Today there are more than 200 Uno Chicago Grill restaurants found in 31 states, but this is the original. To handle overflow traffic from the original Pizzeria Uno, a second Uno restaurant opened one block away from the Original Uno, called Pizzeria Due at 619 North Wabash Avenue.
